Dries Van Noten has named Adrian Ward-Rees as its next president, the Puig-owned fashion and beauty house announced on Friday. The British executive succeeds Axel Keller, who is stepping down after more than five years with the company.

Ward-Rees joins from Moncler Grenoble, the luxury outdoors brand’s performance and ski line, where he was chief business officer for a little over two years. He will officially assume his role at Dries come December 1, with Keller remaining at the house until the new year to support the handover.

“During his tenure, Axel worked closely with the leadership and creative teams to support the development of the house’s retail, wholesale and digital activities, alongside strengthening its international presence and expanding its accessories offering,” an internal announcement reads. Keller oversaw the opening of flagship stores in New York and London, as well as leading the brand’s gallery retail concept in Brussels, Milan and Kyoto.

“Axel also played a key role in the creative succession of the house,” it continues, “accompanying the appointment of Julian Klausner as creative director in 2024, following Dries Van Noten’s decision to step down from the role.”

This leadership change comes as Klausner’s collections are enjoying both critical and commercial success, logging double-digit growth in 2026. It will now be up to Ward-Rees to help further this.

“With the arrival of Julian Klausner, who worked very closely with Dries for the last five years, we have this continuity in the brand DNA with a modern edge, which brings an amazing new vibe to the brand,” Puig CEO Jose Manuel Albesa told reporters during the group’s Capital Markets Day on Wednesday. “We plan to accelerate retail [expansion] little by little, in the right places. Dries is a destination brand, so finding a place is always very special, because we want to create unique spaces. It takes longer, but we plan to open two to three a year.”
